Description

One of the most prominent and well-known star patterns in the northern sky is the Northern Cross in the constellation Cygnus (the Swan). The first magnitude star Deneb appears at left centre, with the red North America and Pelican Nebulae just below and to its left. Red hydrogen gas surrounds the bright star Gamma Cygni just a little to the left of the centre of the frame.
