Description

LBN 438, one of the Lynds' Bright Nebulae, is a patch of dark molecular cloud located at the constellation Lacerta, consisting of molecular hydrogen and silicate dust particles. It becomes visible through illumination by the interstellar radiation field known as Extended Red Emission, which makes part of this nebula red.
