The Crescent Nebula (NGC6888)
The Crescent Nebula lies around 5,000 light years from earth. The nebula most likely formed when the central Wolf-Rayet star's massive stellar wind compressed the surrounding gas and dust in these complex patterns starting around 250,000 years ago.
