notes:

subs are too long and killed the star colors. maybe i'll try ISO800 next time.

framing is ridiculous but i was racing against clouds and already had the flats for this position angle.

bad, bad halos around the stars. in the red channel these halos were strong enough to cause the stars to have grey halos around them in the RGB view. fixed up with some creative range masks and pixelmath. not sure if anything other than shorter subexposures would solve this problem. HDR merge of shorter exposures may not help as the halos themselves are not actually overexposed...
