Description

To me, one of the very interesting objects in the nightsky is M1 - The Crab Nebula. It is a remnant of a super nova explosion that took place in 1054 as documented by chinese astronomers. The supernova was even visible during daytime. Being a planetary nebula, M1 naturally only occupies a very small fraction of the sky (6' x 4').

The cloud cover finally broke up for a couple of hours last night. It was fairly windy and i only did short exposures. The mount was still a bit shaky but at least the coarse filament structure of M1 became visible.
