Description

First clear night in weeks, but very clear. Cold. CCD at 1.5 °C to start, falling to 0. Acquired with PicGoto/Astrotortilla. Went to 480 s subframes. Imaged up to the meridian, performed a flip, and imaged back down to the neighbors' tree. I was hoping to capture a little filament that runs from IC 417 on the right toward NGC1931 on the left, and it is just barely visible. I'm a little hesitant to post this because I know it needs Hα before it will look decent, but here it is anyway.

In the revision, I have stretched much more aggressively. Still need Hα to finish this.

Filter: Baader UHC-S

Mount: CG-5 (Synta motors, PicGoto Simplificado)

Guiding: 9x50 Finder/Guider + DSI Ic + PHD 2.4.1 (Win 7 ASCOM)

Camera: DSI IIc no cooling (1.5 to 0 °C)

Acquisition: Nebulosity 3.2.1, no dither

Exposure: 63x480 s

Stacking: Neb 3, bad pixel map, bias included, no flats, OSC nebula filter, histogram match, de-Bayer and square, trans+rot align, 1.5 SD stack.

Processing: StarTools 1.3.5.289 Crop; Wipe 76%; Develop 76.61%; HDRptimize; Color:Scientific 200%; Deconvolute: 2.5 pix; Life:Moderate; Track 3.1 pix; Magic 2 pix. Photoshop CC 2014 + Carboni Astronomy Tools Increase star color; Astroframe.
