LEO I dwarf galaxy in the local group and perhaps one of the most distant satellite galaxies of our Milky way. That evening I had mounted the Tecnosky refractor 80/480 and at 2AM I didn't know what to photograph. I decided to try this Galaxy although 480mm wasn't an excellent focal lenght. It's a pretty difficult because this DSO is located very close to bright star Regulus. I tried to contain the halo and make LEO I more visible as possible
45x300 sec ISO 800 with Canon 450D.

Galassia LEO I, nana del gruppo locale e forse una delle più lontane galassie satellite della nostra Via Lattea. Quella sera avevo lasciato montato il rifrattore Tecnosky 80/480 e alle 2 non sapevo cosa fotografare. Ho deciso di riprovare questa galassia anche se la focale non era ottima. E' un DSO abbastanza difficile perchè si trova molto vicino alla luminosissima Regolo. Ho cercato di contenere l'alone e rendere il più visibile possibile la galassietta
