Description

CG4 Cometary globule in Puppis.

This cometary globule sometimes referred to as "God's Hand" at a distance of 1300ly.appears to be reaching out to grab a distance galaxy (ESO 257-19) at a distance over 100 million ly.

Cometary globules are relativity small clouds of dust and gas in the Milky Way.

The head of CG4 is opaque but glows because it is illuminated by light from very hot stars.
