Description

Okay, so I'm getting into Astrophotography for the first time, and like an idiot, I just jumped in with both feet, and without some thought and consideration for what I'm doing. I mean, what fun is it to do it the 'right way?' Seriously.

I have some light pollution in my area, but on a good night, I can see M31 with my naked eye, even if very faintly. So, I thought 50 minutes worth of subs would do the trick. Apparently not, but I'm LEARNING, and that's the point.

Anyway, I'm having issues with dust somewhere in the imaging train on my Sony SLTs, with the translucent mirror that doesn't move. I hope I've gotten it all off of there now, but I'm seriously thinking about getting a Canon so I don't have to deal with this!

So, I know this is bad, it certainly won't win APOD, that's for sure. But, I'm also going to use Astrobin as a record of my learning curve, in the hopes that as I get better, and I will, that others can also learn from me. Either that, or just get totally frustrated and sell everything off, but that's a ways away, I hope.
