Description

The Helix Nebula is the largest planetary nebula (in terms of sky size) and is located in the constellation Aquarius very close at only about 700 light years from our sun.

This image was a first attempt by me to combine DSLR RGB data with CCD narrowband data. I captured 3 hours of Ha and OIII data on an RH-200 at f/3 with a Starlight Xpress Trius 694. I also shot just over an hour of RGB with a Nikon D810a on an Esprit 150 refractor. I did all the preprocessing in PixInisight and the final assembly in Photoshop.
