Description

I decided to spend one night for color imaging. The goal was to get correct color of the planets.

I have performed the following to obtain true color: use of dispersion corrector, background subtraction and setting the color balance with artificial white field.



Neptune:

In general, as expected, the planet is almost monochromatic. However, the south side noticeably lighter. And it is lighter only in red and partly green, so the polar region is whiter.

Celestron C11, 2.5x barlow, Pierro Astro ADC, Baader UV/IR Cut, ASI224MC

4000 frames x 100 ms



Uranus:

Color of the planet is very close to the color of Neptune.

Belts are clearly visible in red channel, so it is not featureless!

Color scheme: RRGB

It is surprise for me that color difference between planets is so weak. Note: I believe that to see this difference clearly your monitor must be precisely calibrated to 6500 K or slightly lower.
