Description

The Crab Nebula (M1, NGC 1952, Taurus A) is a supernova remnant in the constellation of Taurus. It was a bright supernova recorded by Chinese astronomers in 1054. The nebula lies in the Perseus Arm of the Milky Way galaxy, at a distance of about 6,500 l.y. from Earth.

The raw sub images are from National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) telescope in Cerro Tololo, Chile. Plane wave CDK24 24 inches 3,962 mm f/6.5, taken through R V B Ha OIII filters, total exposure 283.9 minutes. Processed by T. Jittasaiyapan.
