Description

This of course is the iconic Horsehead Nebula in Orion – officially known as IC 434. The very dark dust intrusion which is the actual horsehead shape is officially known as B33. Just below the Horsehead you can see the very bright blue refection nebula NGC2023. This entire massive area of gas and dust is located very near to the left-most bright star in Orion’s belt, Alnitak.
