Description

Comet C / 2013 US “CATALINA”, photo taken at the San Juan Talpa Observatory, El Salvador, at 05: 02hrs on November 29, 2015, with fog, moon at 96% and wind causing turbulence that made it difficult to focus. At 15 ° high above the EAST SOUTHEAST horizon, almost dawn. With an Williams Optics GTF81 81mm APO Telescope, on an Orion Sirius mount, with an Orion StarShoot G3 Deep Space Monochrome camera, an 8-wheel XAGYL motorized wheel, Rigel Systems USB-nSTEP motorized focuser, 8 photos: L 2x120s, R 2x120s, G 2x120s, B 2x120s, in primary focus, with Williams Optics 50mm guide telescope and an Orion StarShot guide camera. Using Sequence Generator Pro for the focus and acquisition of photos, stacked with DeepSkyStacker and processed with Photoshop.

C / 2013 US10 (Catalina) is a comet from the Oort cloud, discovered on October 31, 2013 by the Catalina Sky Survey, at that time with an apparent magnitude of 19 using a 27-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain catadioptic telescope. Since September 2015 the comet is shining with an apparent magnitude of plus or minus 6.
