AT65EDQ on iOptron iEQ45

Description

Here's my AT65EDQ riding on top of my new iOptron iEQ45. This is now my primary AP mount as the Celestron AVX DEC axis was giving me some challenges with PHD Guiding.

I was a bit fearful of switching as I'd grown accustom to the NexStar HC and software and did consider going to a heavier Celestron mount. Having used the GoToNova now for a bit, I find it easier and nicer in many respects. The AVX always had the bad habit of starting to track from he moment you turned it on. It's nice that the iEQ45 doesn't do that. The polar scope is first class, but still needs a little tweaking to get it just right. The heated HC is a big plus. The mount should now be able to support my Omni 150 XLT for AP as the AVX couldn't handle it. The Iterative Polar Alignment is as good as the NexStar All-Star-Polar-Alignment and will get you to within 2'-4' of Polaris. I then use PHD's Drift Align to get down below 1'.

The mount shown is on my deck at the moment, but will be moved down my new patio (in the background below) later once power and CAT5 are run this spring.
