Description

Hardly any need to stretch this. Stretching the chroma would distort the colors and make regions too saturated. This is the natural color of the object. No deconvolution, no stretching, just MURE denoising. This is just off the telescope.

-----------

Time to rework this one...

----------

Wow this one is tough to get color calibrated. But the latest revision now shows the spectrum of color hues that I would expect to see. Red for H-alpha, orange for H-alpha + dust scattering, magenta for H-alpha + H-beta, and blue-white for reflection nebulae.

-------

So... red, compared to what? (where is the gray level is an all-red field?) And how much of any gradient belongs to the nebula, and what part is the sky?

-------

Okay! I finally found a way to reliably deemphasize field stars without causing undue artifacts in the image. Compare this version with the previous one. Note how much less influence the field stars have in this revision. And at that, the previous version already had deemphasized stars, compared to the raw image.
