Description

Listed as the "Omega" star in Centauras, that's no star. Estimated to contain some 10 million stars, and is 150 light years wide, and located some 15,000 light years away.

Omega Centauri is called a globular cluster, but due to its size, different ages of stellar populations, and metallicities, it is likely that it is a disrupted core of a dwarf galaxy that parts of it were absorbed by our Milky Way Galaxy.
