Description

NGC 772, the Nautilus Galaxy, is a spiral galaxy in the constellation Aries. Shining at magnitude 10.3 overall, it spans about 7.2' by 4.3'. Its companion NGC 770 (just below and slightly to the right in this image) shines at magnitude 14.25.

This image was prepared from 15-minute subs using my Atik 383L+ mono before the camera developed a problem with moisture condensing on the sensor. I was not able to take any RGB data, and the camera is on its way to the UK for sensor cleaning. Thus, I am posting a luminance version for the time being.
