Description

The comet C/2009 R1 (McNaught) is one of 54 comets discovered by Robert H. McNaught from Australian observatory Siding Spring Survey. Discovered with 17 magnitude on September 9, 2009, on its approach to Earth augmented your bright until 8,5 magnitude on middle May doing visible trough binoculars. During maximum approach days, when was taken this image, the comet was visible at naked eye (from dark places) with 5,5 magnitude before dawn at only 15 degrees above East horizon. In the image is highlight a fluorescent turquoise coma, a long ionic tail 1,5 degrees lenght, and barely showing a small tail of dust mixed with the gas of coma.
