Description

Somehow I forgot to post this image after taking it, but seeing some nice images of this galaxy jogged my memory so I’m posting it now. My issues with plate solving continued this particular night; it worked perhaps once even though I was pointing right at the target (the original goto got it into the imager field of view, barely). The session ended on a failed meridian flip, I think because of plate solve failure. Anyway, this is a pretty galaxy, but my image doesn't do it justice, probably because there was an awful lot of moonlight; I was definitely getting better galaxy images back at new Moon. It's another image that looks better if you don't look too close!
