Description

This is a Wolf-Rayet ring nebula around the star WR 134 in Cygnus, approximately 6000 light years away. The Crescent Nebula is also a WR nebula. In this case, WR 134's stellar winds are causing a faint bubble nebula to be created within the ISM. This is the final stages in the life of the star, before heading towards a supernova (generally, type 1b or 1c).

This presentation is in OHS palette: Oiii mapped to red, Ha mapped to green and Sii mapped to blue.
