Description

Raw frames courtesy of Deep Sky West Remote Observatory in New Mexico, USA. (deepskywest.com) Data obtained with FSQ 106EDXiii / QSI683wsg / Lodestar / Paramount MyT.

14.5 hrs (13x1800s H, 16x600s R, 16x600s G, 16x600s B). Palette is standard RGB alone, better showing the ionized O-III blue features.

Yes, it looks crowded with stars. But when you zoom in, it looks much better. Any attempt to erode field stars made the image look worse to me.

Rev B -- Instead of adding Ha to the image in the usual manner, I tried just using Ha as the Lum channel. This does two things: (A) it drastically reduces the field stars without the associated star-reduction fogging, and (B) it preserves the blue Oxygen strength in the image.
