Description

Few weeks ago, there was a picture of Olly Penrice and Tom O'Donoghue of a well-known area in Cassiopeia, but with a very rarely photographed piece of nebula (I've been looking for thoroughly, but indeed could find just a handful of images) that is attached to the well-known gamma Cas nebula (Ic59 and Ic63). They named this nebula the Breaking Wave Nebula, what is a very appropriate name I think. When a clear period was predicted, and I was already imaging the gamma cas, I thought it was actually a nice challenge to try to catch this nebula. So I have done 6 nights of photographing this little piece of the sky in a mosaic of 4 panels. I have a total of 46 hours data collected now. The very weak nebulosity in this region is really nicely starting to appear and it shows that even in some well known regions there is always a possibility to find something 'new'.
