Description

This is a narrowband image of NGC 6820 in Vulpecula, also known as Sharpless 2-86, which was processed in HOO bicolor (Red = H-alpha, Green = OIII, Blue = OIII). NGC 6820 is a star-forming region with extensive dust embedded in a cloud of hydrogen emission nebula. The splendid open cluster above the dust pillars is NGC 6823. This nebula reminds me of a coral reef with a fish swimming through it. Seeing was excellent when I took the data, but I have not had a night of good seeing since.

The "B" revision is stretched to bring up the overall brightness of the image.
