The comet Honda-Mrkos-Pajdusakova approached to only 0.06 AU from Earth (30 times the distance to the Moon) on 2011 August 15, but it only could be observable from our latitude since last days of September, coinciding with its perihelium and its maximum brightness of 7 mag., at low altitude on the horizon before dawn. It developed a thin and long tail of blue gas during some days, and thereafter its brightness started to going down quickly.
