Description

A couple of months after my spine operation I managed to get some help with transport to someones 'dark site' driveway and setup. I'm so surprised how well this has come out as I haven't done a serious imagining session since August.

The Horsehead was well placed in the darkest part of the sky but the odd car went past so there was no point doing really long frames.

I went with LRGB for this one

Lum 1x1 5mins x14

RGB 2x2 2mins x10 each

Even the flats worked well during processing so I got lucky....!

Description: I think this is the original for this one... I reprocessed the data from scratch recently and got a much nicer image out if but it's a historical reminder that I have learned something over the years.....

I reprocessed this one for a local newsletter and cranked things up as far as I dare to bring out the Horsehead as much as possible. Some artefacts started to show up so it's not my favourite but it did produce a more striking image for eye candy purposes...
Possibly not much else forthcoming from me for a while without some help with my kit. My spine seems to be a bit of whack-a-mole, fix one problem and another shows up. I'd rather not drop my scope and camera so best to lie low for a bit longer... not something I expected at 47!
