Description

My imaging drought is officially over. It has been 105 days since I have enjoyed clear skies. I can't remember a time when it was this cloudy! This last week I was treated to three nights that were partially clear and was able to collect enough NB data to process an image. It had been so long that I was rusty with image capture and image processing, but I managed to fumble through.

To me, this looks more like a brain than a jellyfish. Located in the constellation of Gemini, this supernova remnant is rich in Ha, Sii and Oiii. It is a beautiful object and one I have wanted to image for a long time.

Other than the microlens diffraction on the bright star, I am pleased overall with this image. I would have liked to collected twice as much data, but I think I may need to wait until next year to add to it.

C&C is most welcome.
