Description

*********** ENGLISH: unsusal technique for this image of M97, the well-known "Owl Nebula" in Ursa Major. Using my 12" ODK f/6.8 I took 25x600" frames with a Baader-modified Canon 450D. After that, at the meridian flip, I changed the 450 with a SBIG11000 for 28x600" frames with L filter. All the complex postprocessing was mad by my good friend Edoardo Radice, also known as "the PixInsight master" ^_^

Sky was good but nothing extraordinary, Bortle more 3 than 2, some light veils. Image is a crop of the original. Please note the "carpet" of faint galaxies and the small nebula (anonymus?) near M97. A faint "outer shell" is barley visible in this image, but it is obvious streching the image.
