Description

Arp 225 - NGC 2655, amorphous spiral arms galaxy in Camelopardalis. Distance ~ 63MLy.

Obviously with a very bright core, surrounded by much fainter filaments. There are a lot of galaxies within the field. Most notably NGC 2715, a nice spiral typ SBc (distance ~ 54MLy). Numerous distant background galaxies, mind the small dots near PGC 2775375...

For this image I used a Intel compute stick to remotely controll the scope from within the house . I also tried Sequence Generator Pro for the first. Although not as straight forward as Astrophotography Tool I wanted to try the autofocus feature with my new Lacerta Motorfocus. There where some difficulties I need to get solved. However, I am quite satisfied with the overall result, as FWHM increased over time due to increasing wind. I will add colour the next time!

The result above was fully processed using PI.

Added color: R/G/B: 12x300s@bin2x2.
