Description

Appearing as an unwary fly about to be caught by a wily spider in her web, the emission nebulae IC-417 and NGC 1931 glow dimly in the constellation of Auriga. IC-417 (the "spider" and her "web") lie at a distance of 10,000 light years, while NGC 1931 (the "fly") lies somewhat closer to us at a distance of 7000 light years.
