Description

NGC4214 is an irregular galaxy in CVn, size 8,4 x 6,6arcmin, magnitude 10,2. Distance is only about 10 mly, thats 4x Andromeda, but it is not counted as member of the local group. It is a starburst galaxy and lots of very active regions are evident in the picture.

This pic was done using my Quartz 10" f/5 Newtonian wth focal length 1250mm, and ASI1600 pixelpitch produces a pixelscale of 0,63 arcsec/pixel. One of the nights was with good seeing, so these Luminance data were taken to Deconvolution and see how much detail can be obtained using that technique. The Luminance of the second night was considerably more blurred, and helped just to calm down the background.

Amazingly, after 3min exposure the background values were already around 7%, and it was not useful to make longer subs, instead I took more of them. ASI1600MMC operated at unity gain here.

A full size pic at full resolution and a center crop are provided here. The field is full of distant galaxies.
