Description

IC 2574 is a diffuse galaxy and is thus, very faint even though it's 50,000 LY wide and pretty close to us, being part of the M81 group.

It's a good target for larger scopes, and darker skies than mine.

I took these subs back in January 2016. I've often tried to get an image from them but had a strange artefact across the stacks even though the individual subs are ok. Tonight I combined them using the PI no pixel rejection method and usable stacks appeared. After that just the gradient and LP to overcome :-)

Still, not the easiest galaxy to image.

Rev A: LRGB with Ha added (not enough subs to show anything).

Rev B: Slightly cropped.
