Description

Star trails from the night of 2nd of June, pointing just east of the southern celestial pole, using a tripod on some sturdy wooden chairs to try and minimise the obstructing fence. The camera position shifted the smallest amount half way through the night when changing batteries, and there was some fog build up at a similar time, but it came out alright. Apparently 18 seconds (15 + 3 for shutter delay) between photos was enough to show small gaps, so I guess it should be star dashes. Still, with 102 images at five minutes each for a total of just over 9 hours (including gaps), this makes these dashes the longest I've pointed at a single target to date.

This version was processed with Pixinsight, just using bias calibration frames as my darks and flats were playing up (will try again) similarly as with the previous night's imaging.

Alternate versions with just the first half, just the second half, alternate programs to come later.

Bonus: some planes that almost look like fairy lights.
