I was fortunate enough to have the foresight to bring my ZWO camera with to France with its 130 degree fish-eye lens. the little town I am staying in, Glux en Glenne, has some of the clearest darkest skies I have seen in a while. The entire arch of the Milky Way is clearly visible to the naked eye and this is what my camera sees. Its a little out of focus but with only 12 minutes of exposure time bands of dust within the galaxy are easy to distinguish. The central core of the galaxy is situated at the bottom right of the image, replaced in frame by the local pub.
