Description

M20 is a star-forming region in the constellation of Sagittarius. The name is due to the three types of nebulae present. The red color is due to glowing hydrogen gas. The blue areas represent light from young blue stars being reflected from interstellar dust. The dark veins are dense obscuring dust clouds.

The Triffid Nebula lies 5,000 light years distant within our Milky Way
