Astronomy and Poetry

The Great Globular Cluster in Hercules, full of blue sapphires, majestic symbol of eternal love.

This is the home of thousands of stars, enjoying an embracing fragrant beauty, an unstable dance for not knowing how to deal with what lies within, gravitating on the defensive, a “mortal blow” a waiting to be taken by surprise.

One of them is different, its brilliance is surrounded by enormous splendor. Listen to it carefully, feel it deeply, and you will realize just how seductive, intense and delicate it is.

I saw Halley’s comet passing by me and it made me feel special, but this star is still shining to this day in the north of the night sky, waiting to be touched by a sweet whisper of feelings, a serenade of magical smiles. I wish this star would find her destiny.

*******************

With an apparent magnitude of 5.8, it can be observed with the naked eye as a diffuse spot in a very dark sky but its beauty can only be contemplated with the use of a telescope.

The M13 is about 25,000 light-years across, with a diameter of 145 light years and its age was estimated at 13 billion years, that is: a structure of the primordial Universe, which although it possesses young stars, these can Have different origins.

Containing between 100,000 and 1,000,000 stars so close, if there is life in the cluster, then it must be perfectly adapted and dependent on the light, because with so many stars, the night does not exist and the sunset happens all the time in All directions.

One of the first radio messages sent to space to announce our presence to an eventual extraterrestrial civilization was in 1974 the message of Arecibo. The main reason, besides the proximity to the Earth and its age, was the high density of the star to be interpreted as a greater probability of harboring intelligent life.

The message will take about 25,000 years to reach its destination and the response will never arrive before the year 52,000, possibly sometime after the decline of our civilization. However, the fact that stars move relative to each other causes a great deal of uncertainty as to whether the message reaches its destination, but since the target is made up of hundreds of thousands of stars, it may be possible that it is received in some way from them.
