Description

Rimae Sirsalis, number 77 of the Lunar 100 list. A more than 400 km long rille which is up to 4 km wide. Prominent are the Sirsalis craters (two double craters, the big ones Sirsalis and Sirsalis A and the small ones F and J) as well as crater Crüger (smooth one below Sirsalis). Right to Crüger the rille goes through De Vico A. The rille ends south close to crater Darwin. Also a prominent landmark is crater Byrguis with its rail system on the lower right.

The rille was extremely hard to see visually but after stacking it is quite well-defined. Still, shot one day earlier would have improved the contrast a lot.

Best,

Jan
