My Observatory - SkyShed POD XL5

Description

Hello fellow Astrobinners! Sorry, I have been offline for so long, but it has been a busy year! I have spent most of my hobby time since February planning and building my backyard observatory. I chose the SkyShed POD XL5 (8 ft inside diameter with 5 storage bays) and also installed the SkyShed Pier to permanently mount my Celestron AVX mount. Between the observatory, solar eclipse preparations, and the usual hectic schedule at work, there has not been any time for nighttime imaging. Now that I have my scope and mount ready to go in the POD (Personal Observatory Dome), it will be a LOT easier to get out at night. No more two hour setups and one hour take downs!

Huge thanks to my brother Mike and my neighbor Nick - both of whom are master carpenters. The concrete piers and the wooden deck came out PERFECTLY!

Clear skies to all!
