Description

NGC6946 - Fireworks Galaxy

Taken over 2 nights, this was harder to do than I thought it would be, perhaps the seeing was not as good as I thought and so I'm not completely happy with the result for the amount of data collected.

A spiral galaxy around 22,000,000 light years away and 40,000 light years across or about 1/3 the size of our the Milky Way. Ir was discovered in 1798 by William Herschel and resides in the constellation of Cygnus.
