Description

This is a partial view of NGC7000, also known as North America Nebula, from its apparent shape.

To have an idea about the energy of this gigant nebula, if all its energy were emited from a single point, like a star, it would shine as a mag. 4 !!

NGC7000 is a star forming HII area part of a single dark giant molecular cloud with mass about 50.000 Suns.

Part of the giant molecular cloud lies in front of the emission nebula making it appears to be different emissing nebulae when in fact they are merely the outlying areas of an uderlying emission region.

The catalogue number of the dark nebula that superimposes to the underlying nebulae is LDN 935.
