Description

Arp 31 - IC167 a small spiral, in Arp's catalogue an integrale sign spiral. Had some major difficulties processing this one due to the bright star in the bottom of the image (1 Ari) which is in fact a double star (with a separation of ~2.9"). It created a lot of field illumination. Thankfully PI DBE got rid of it. Also first time using SX Lodestar in combination with off-axis guiding. Not one wasted frame .

You might notice an asteroid toward the right of Arp31/NGC694 as I shot the color images. This i (4744) Rovereto with an apparant magnitude of 16.5. Distance around 2.2au making it one of the asteriods in the main belt. The crop is a quick and dirty approach where I just average combined every image without sigma stacking (also no cosmetic correction so a lot hot pixel). The path in the color shot is a lot less bright. The gaps in the L shots are due to refocusing/meridian flip breaks .
