Description

Hi all.

I'm back again, after a long time!

I have now a lot of good stuff to share with you, so let's start!

This is a hard one.

This galaxy was discovered by the italian astronomer Paolo Maffei in 1968.

It lies just on the galactic equator, and is heavily obscured by the dust clouds of our galaxy.

I shot this picture using an infrared filter (a Schuler Ic), whose bandpass is from 650 nm till 1000 nm and beyond. Its peak is around 850 nm.

I'm really impressed by the details of the galaxy itself. Incredible!

Ciao

Lorenzo
