Description

I used the Tamron 150-600 pushed to 1200 mm thanks to the teleconverter 2x, and yet NGC 2362 remains small (which is justified by the apparent size of the cluster: 6 minutes of arc).

NGC 2362 is backed by the vast Sh2-310 nebula. I did a little Ha to bring out some red Ha around.

It is a very young cluster of the constellation Canis Majoris. Its age is estimated at 8.2 million years. It is nicknamed the Tau Canis Majoris Cluster because this very bright star is in its center and ionizes gas clouds.
