Description

Only got 8 and a half minutes of data because I was falling asleep (3:30 am). Learned that I need to find a way to produce flats, as that will really help cut down the noise. I also want to get a field flattener in order to make full use of the frame. Overall, very happy with how this turned out!

Description: Settings: ISO 1600, 30 second exposures
Exposure time: 17x30 = 8 minutes 30 seconds
Stacking: Done in DeepSkyStacker 4.1.1. Result - Standard Mode, Align RGB Channels in final image. Light, Dark, and Bias frames stacked using Kappa Sigma clipping mode (Kappa 2.00, 5 iterations). Alignment - automatic.
Editing: I used GIMP 2.10.4 to edit the TIF. Levels - black level changed from 0 to 6. Then adjusted again using curve.
Notes: I found 11 background galaxies in here, this scope is amazing. Any tips on processing greatly appreciated, I don't that much.

Description: Started from original again. Used the free hand lasso to outline M101 and several of the other background galaxies, then selected the inverse. Adjusted the curves, level, and saturation until noise reduced enough.
