Description

It is practically little photographed, reserved for the southern hemisphere, and there is little information on this open cluster IC 2714. It is however also registered as Collinder 245 or Melotte 104.

Located in the constellation Carina, approximately 4000 light years away from Earth, IC 2714 was discovered by James Dunlop in 1826. With an apparent dimension of 12 arc minutes, it emits a signal of magnitude 8.2.

This is my last image of this constellation that went away. I think I have enough images of this beautiful constellation to make a big poster.
