Description

Here is another example of what could happen to our Sun down the road. I think these Gas Emission Nebulae are some of the most interesting objects. Its a shame that most are so small - but not this one! Like the Helix this knots of photoionization fronts. These areas where ions are formed seem to float on a blue sphere of reflective gasses.

Expansion rates indicate the nebula began expanding around 10 to 15 thousand years ago.

This is an HOO mix. The OIII competes well with the Ha on these types of planetary nebulae. There is some nice SII that focuses on the knots but I have not yet figured out how to use it! I'm not done here.

20 minutes subs were used. 27 OIII and 19 Ha. 15.33 hours.

NOTE: as of 2019-01-12 the uploaded red-edit also contains 20 SII subs. Total now is 22 hours.
