Description

The weather was the last 3 nights phenomenal, around 18 Celsius with low(er) humidity. It is always a good sign if your equipment is not wet in the morning that it was a good night. And I did not want to waste it either, so I chose a target that goes a bit further than the "standard" targets (at the beginning those standard targets are wonderful, and I will still keep on going doing them 😊). With that on my mind I chose Sh2-91 since it comes up "early" enough for me (around 2am) and I could get some imaging time together. But I should have been prepared what I started, wow ... to emphasize the nebula in the incredible mist of stars is something. This is my first try, not really great, have to think about further processing. I am so busy right now that I could not spend too much time on it, leaving something for the rainy summer evenings.

Sh 2-91 (Sh 2-94 and Sh 2-96 not visible on this image) are all filaments of the supernova remnant SNR 065.2+05.7, which has a diameter of about 70 parsecs and an age of about 20 thousand years.

Description: From an interim stage ... the color gradient is as well very difficult to deal with.

Description: This one is really a tough nut. I got more data, getting the fine nebula structures out of the ocean of stars is very difficult. In this version a lot of background neutralization and star masking took place. I will target this object again once the weather turns around, I do not give up (yet) ;-).

Description: Tried out some methods in PI and PS, still trying to emphasize the nebula more, which is with that many stars not that easy.

Description: Example of Starnet++ work. Ok ... this was not the best target to try this out, but one can see the potentials. Will have to work on some of my older images to see better results. Still, the crazy amount of stars in the original image is very much under control. And ... I did not spend a lot of time on this. This was obtained from version D.
