Description

A favorite area of the sky for me... I had to try to do this one again. On this I used a rather economical Oshiro 135mm lens and a Nikon D5300.

The lens is f2.8 fully open. I sort of stopped it in between detents at about f3.4 to minimize vignetting and I was pleased that I did not get bad diffraction spikes. But was really surprising was that I did not get CA. I do not know why as this is not an apo lens and is not even advertised as being an ED lens.

Description: I was dissatisfied with this image because there seemed to be no reds in there, at least not what I expected. I reprocessed and did a 2x drizzle which I believe helps with the inherent undersampling. And then some reds appeared. I suspect the original problem was in DBE. But anyway, here is a new revisions which I hope is an improvement over the original.
