A spectacular pair, the North America (NGC 7000) and the Pelican (IC 5070) emission nebulae along with IC 5068. The image is a combination of Ha and RGB data taken with the Rokinon 135mm f/2 lens and ZWO ASI1600MM Pro camera over a couple of nights in June 2019. The lens was riding piggyback on the Stellarvue APO SVA130T triplet mounted on the Orion HDX-110 EQ-G mount.

The synthetic luminance was produced using Ha and RGB data. R color channel is a blend of the broadband and narrowband images (R and Ha). The narrowband Ha exposures were taken with lens stopped at f2.8 and camera gain 50 and 100. The RGB data was captured at f4.0 and gain 0.

Ha: 5x1200s (@ f2.8, Gain 50, bin1x1), 15x600s (@ f2.8, Gain 100, bin1x1)

R: 33x120s (@ f4.0, Gain 0, bin1x1)

G: 20x120s (@ f4.0, Gain 0, bin1x1)

B: 30x120s (@ f4.0, Gain 0, bin1x1)

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
