Description

This is my first serious project with the TS 60/360 Apo and the SmartEQ Pro mount.

Acquired over 11 nights (June 8, 22, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30 and July 1, 2, 3, 4) from the top of my building. The sky was exceptionally clear on July 2nd. Best sky in 9 months.

The same night, the cockroaches dwelling on the top of the building (which I didn't know existed) decided I am basically harmless and started just going about their business without paying any attention to me.

I hate cockroaches, but I stayed because it will probably be another 3-4 months until the sky is so clear in the Athens region.

I think this photo is at the limit of what one can image from suburban athens, this low in the southern horizon. It would probably llook seriously better from a dark location which is where I will be at the end of the month (although I will do more demanding targets there).

The SmartEQ Pro mount performs MUCH better than the Star Adventurer and GoTo is a feature that saves *a lot* of time. However, I would say it is a bit inconsistent. Sometimes I have up to 5 perfect subs in a row. Some other times more than half of the subs will have serious star trails while the other half is okay. Not sure why.
